[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Good afternoon Grace!
I want you to know how much we miss seeing you all during this season of uncertainty. I fully believe this time gives us some important opportunities that we may not have had when our schedules were packed with business. Many of us have more time to spend with the Lord to hear His heart for our lives. We can use that time with God to hear how we can better encourage each other and impact those around us.
The elders continue to seek the Lord together to hear how we should guide the church with both faith and wisdom. As we adjust our course during this season, our primary concern is for each of you to grow in your faith while also maintaining safe health practices. We currently feel it is best to postpone meeting publicly until August 9th in a larger group setting, but this does not mean we need to stop connecting with each other!
With this in mind we feel our best course of action is twofold:
Connecting in vital relationships: We have always said that the heart of Grace is developing close relationships to encourage each other in our walk with God. The early church was built on the foundation of meeting together in homes as believers ministered to each other. Grace has always held this concept as foundational to having real relationships, and we believe this season can deepen these relationships. Life Groups have been the seedbed for beginning these relationships and encouraging friendships to grow in and outside those groups. Although Life Groups are currently on break for the summer, the elders feel gathering together in groups of 3 or 4 families is a great way to connect and continue to grow in life-giving relationships during this time. We are working to set up some natural “micro-groups” to facilitate meeting together in various ways, sharing meals, or possibly Sunday brunch to pray, worship, and watch the service together… whatever works for you to encourage and grow together.
Public Meetings: Given the spike in Coronavirus cases in Tarrant County, we have decided to postpone meeting together publicly until August 9. We will continue our Sunday morning video worship and messages on facebook and our website. We realize meeting together is an important aspect of who we are and that we all want to join together in worship, prayer, hearing God’s word, and fellowship. We look forward to doing that again soon and are prayerfully considering changes that will need to be implemented as we ramp up to be together as a larger group.
As we seek God together we have the opportunity to find His heart for the church in this season. While it is challenging to be forced out of our comfort zone, let’s remember that it was difficulty that forced the early church to spread out and change their world. Prior generations have passed the baton to us to run the race so let’s do it with joy and confidence that our Lord Jesus, has this all in His hands!
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit of God strengthen you and give you faith and wisdom to glorify God and advance His kingdom in our communities!
