Weekly Update

Hi Parents, our hope is to partner with you as you play a vital role in helping your student grow in their relationship with Christ. This newsletter is designed to keep you connected and informed about what’s happening in Grace Youth from week to week—including teaching topics, upcoming events, and discussion questions you can use at home to continue the conversation and help your student grow in their faith and hear from the Lord.

This week’s teaching

We are continuing our series called “Heroes of the Faith.”

Last night, Karynn shared a message about Deborah, one of the judges of Israel, and how her willingness to follow God and obey His calling allowed her to become a pivotal leader among the Israelites. Through Deborah’s story, we were reminded that God uses willing and imperfect people to accomplish His purposes.

We focused on the truth that leadership isn’t determined by age, gender, or background, but by a willingness to seek God’s voice and respond in obedience. God can use anyone, including our students, to make a difference and accomplish incredible things for His Kingdom!

The challenge for students was simple: God isn’t looking for perfect people; He’s looking for willing hearts. If we want to make an impact for His Kingdom, we must be intentional about seeking His direction and courageous enough to respond in obedience when He calls.

Questions to ask your student:

1. What is one area of your life where you feel God might be calling you to step out in faith and obedience?

2. What is the difference between being willing to obey God and actually taking the step to obey Him?

3. What are some things that might keep you from responding when God calls you to do something? (Fear, insecurity, comfort, opinions of others, etc.)

Student Spotlight

This month’s Student Spotlight goes to Natalie Roach!

Natalie is such a strong believer who displays the character of Christ wherever she goes. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, encourage those around her, and be a positive influence to the people in her life.

Natalie faithfully serves on the Youth worship team week after week as a vocalist, and this semester she has stepped into a greater leadership role within the team. She also leads the Grace Youth social media team, where she loves creating and editing creative, engaging content.

Beyond Youth, Natalie is heavily involved in her school’s FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), helping promote and organize meetings at her school. She is also a leader on both her volleyball and track teams and is someone her peers look up to.

Natalie, we are so proud of you! Keep pursuing Christ, leading by example, and being a bright light to everyone around you. We are excited to see how God continues to use you!
