Weekly Update
Hi Parents, our hope is to partner with you as you play a vital role in helping your student grow in their relationship with Christ. This newsletter is designed to keep you connected and informed about what’s happening in Grace Youth from week to week—including teaching topics, upcoming events, and discussion questions you can use at home to continue the conversation and help your student grow in their faith and hear from the Lord.
This week’s teaching
We are continuing our series called “Heroes of the Faith.”
Today, Pastor Kevin continued the series by teaching on the life of Elijah. Elijah lived a challenging life of standing in the face of false idols, as well as feeling discouraged when he felt that he was the only one of God’s people left.
Tonight, we looked over the truth that God is the source of all we need. Oftentimes in our lives, it can be easy to trust a false sense of joy and security such as friendships, talents, and sports. When Elijah was feeling empty, God was the one to fill his tank. We learned that God is always taking care of our needs even if we can’t see them. We need to trust that He is the only one that can truly bring our strength back.
Questions to ask your student:
1. What are some things in your life that you may trust as a false sense of security?
2. Where do you need God to supply you strength during this season?
3. How can you trust that God is providing for all of your needs, even if you can’t see it?

Student Spotlight
This month’s Student Spotlight goes to Natalie Roach!
Natalie is such a strong believer who displays the character of Christ wherever she goes. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, encourage those around her, and be a positive influence to the people in her life.
Natalie faithfully serves on the Youth worship team week after week as a vocalist, and this semester she has stepped into a greater leadership role within the team. She also leads the Grace Youth social media team, where she loves creating and editing creative, engaging content.
Beyond Youth, Natalie is heavily involved in her school’s FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), helping promote and organize meetings at her school. She is also a leader on both her volleyball and track teams and is someone her peers look up to.
Natalie, we are so proud of you! Keep pursuing Christ, leading by example, and being a bright light to everyone around you. We are excited to see how God continues to use you!
