Grace Family,
What an incredible time it’s been here at Grace. More and more people are discovering that Grace is a place where Jesus Christ can transform their lives.
This past Sunday, Pastor Myles Sweeney brought us a timely message titled “Opening the Door for Miracles.” In it, he shared the impact that prayer has upon God’s Kingdom expanding across the world. As an individual, I was deeply moved by the way I pray for God’s movement in the lives of those around me. As a Pastor, I was even more deeply impacted by how we pray as a church for God’s sovereign move for the DFW region. Last night, our pastors and elders met to discuss how we pray together when we gather, as well as how those at Grace pray within their own homes. All that to say – be prepared for the impact this truth will have on our current times of prayer and future times of prayer at Grace!
Our Summer series, Love Illuminated, is a study of the book of 1 John – one of my favorite books! Each week, I’d like to encourage you to read the passage several times before that Sunday. By reading at a steady pace, it only takes 15-20 minutes to read through the entire book. Here’s my suggestion on how to prepare for Sunday each week through the Summer.
- Week 1 (before this Sunday): 1 John 1:1 – 2:2
- Week 2 (before Sunday, June 22): 1 John 1:1 – 2:17
- Week 3 (before Sunday, June 29): 1 John 1:1 – 2:29
- Week 4 (before Sunday, July 6): 1 John 1:1 – 3:10
- Week 5 (before Sunday, July 13): 1 John 1:1 – 3:24
- Week 6 (before Sunday, July 20): 1 John 1:1 – 4:6
- Week 7 (before Sunday, July 27): 1 John 1:1 – 4:21
- Week 8 (before Sunday, August 3): 1 John 1:1 – 5:21
It’s an honor to walk alongside you as we follow Christ together!
